As part of a collaboration between Malba, the São Paulo Biennial Foundation and the Brazilian Embassy, a selection of the 35th São Paulo Biennial - Choreographies of the Impossible, which took place at the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion in Ibirapuera Park from September 6 to December 10, 2023, is presented in Buenos Aires.

In the words of the Biennial's curatorial team, the term "choreography" is used to highlight the practice of drawing sequences of movements through time and space, generating multiple and new fractions, forms, images and possibilities, despite infeasibility and negation. An invitation to radical imaginations of the unknown. According to the curators, the participants of this Biennial challenge the impossible in its most varied and incalculable forms: "They live in impossible contexts, develop drifting strategies, cross limits and escape the impossibilities of the world they live in. They face total violence, the impossibility of living in complete freedom, inequalities, and their artistic expressions are transformed by the very impossibilities of our times," they emphasize.

The curatorial collective will be in charge of the selection of the works that will be exhibited in Buenos Aires in two venues: Malba and the Pereda Palace, belonging to the Brazilian Embassy. The museum will present the core group of artists "users of psychiatry" represented by Arthur Bispo do Rosario, Aurora Cursino dos Santos and Ubirajara Ferreira, in dialogue with the exhibition by Rosana Paulino. Works by Aline Motta, Elda Cerrato, Gabriel Gentil Tukano and Manuel Chavajay will be exhibited at the Embassy.
